Well, sorry for this little mess up today, nevertheless I hope you got the most important points. Concerning the net, one should keep in mind that:
- blogs are citizen voices, sometimes without any attempt of verification
- the flood of information on the web appears to be confusing
- traditional principles like objectivity, professional independence and emphasis on trying to verify facts ususally hardly applies to any news organization anymore, which I think is the greatest problem in the media landscape

Above all, I think people like to check news online because they can search by interest, look up background information, discuss about certain issues in blogs, compare news and what is most important, online news are always up-to-date!

So, as I said, if you have any questions regarding the advantages and disadvantages on the handout or if you want to add anything, please post a comment!

Besides the news printed on paper and bits and pieces of news you can read anywhere on the net, for instance on the gmx or aol surfaces, there are also internet newspapers. Guess you know Spiegel online etc... But if you are interested in reading e.g. Mexican news visit this site!

As you may know the topic I´m dealing with is comparing the internet with the traditional media, our good old newspaper in particular. To be honest, I´m not that type of person who is totally into reading a certain newspaper on a regular basis. If I want to know what is going on in the world I just press this button on top of my mozilla surface that says "Aktuelle Nachrichten" and I´m up to date.
So far, I have been reading through several articles that seem to be quite interesting.

Myyy very own blog. Something I should be proud of? Um, not really. Why? Because I think it´s a strange idea. Apart from telling my lovely fellow students how I´m doing on my topic, this blog thing doesn´t make much sense to me. But to fullfil Mr. Hummelflug´s wish of all of his students having their own web log, I won´t refuse to do so. Besides, I must admit I´m quite curious about how this project will work out..
